Dr. M. Jayasree

Movement Disorders, DBS & MRgFUS

Dr. M. Jayasree is a Consultant Neurologist at KIMS Neuroscience with a focused expertise in movement disorders — Parkinson's disease, essential tremor, dystonia, drug-induced movement disorders, and complex rare movement disorder syndromes — and a central role in the DBS and MRgFUS clinical programme at KIMS. She completed her MBBS at Osmania Medical College, Hyderabad, her MD in General Medicine and DM in Neurology at the Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad, serving as Senior Resident at NIMS (2016–2017) before joining KIMS as Consultant Neurologist in August 2017.

As an integral member of the DBS and MRgFUS programme, Dr. Jayasree evaluates patients with Parkinson's disease and tremor syndromes for DBS vs MRgFUS candidacy, conducts post-operative DBS programming, and manages the long-term neurological care of movement disorder patients in collaboration with the neurosurgical team. She has extensive clinical experience in acute stroke management (including IV thrombolysis and mechanical thrombectomy alongside the neuro-interventional team), epilepsy, Guillain-Barré syndrome, myasthenia gravis, autoimmune encephalitis, and neuroinfectious conditions. She received the Best Paper Award at MDSICON 2026 for outcomes post-MRgFUS in Parkinson's disease, and the Best Poster Award at IANCON 2015, Agra. Since April 2026 she serves as President of the Epilepsy Association of Secunderabad.
