Consultant Neurosurgeon — Epilepsy & Functional Neurosurgery at KIMS Neuroscience, Secunderabad, Hyderabad. MCh (Neurosurgery), Fellowship in Epilepsy & Functional Neurosurgery (Amrita, Kochi). Epilepsy and functional neurosurgery, including ROSA robotic stereotactic procedures.
Dr. Gopala Krishna Goreepati is a neurosurgeon at KIMS with specialised expertise in epilepsy surgery, functional neurosurgery, and movement disorder surgery. His practice includes epilepsy surgery, functional neurosurgery and ROSA robotic stereotactic procedures, and he is one of the most experienced epilepsy surgeons in the region.
He completed his MCh in Neurosurgery at Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi — a nationally renowned centre for advanced neurosurgical training — followed by a dedicated two-year Fellowship in Epilepsy and Functional Neurosurgery at the same institution (2022–2024), under the mentorship of Dr. Ashok B. Pillai, Clinical Professor and Head of Stereotactic & Functional Neurosurgery, Amrita Advanced Centre for Epilepsy.
Dr. Goreepati's surgical scope spans pre-surgical evaluation of medically refractory epilepsy, stereo-EEG (intracranial EEG) planning and implantation, resective epilepsy surgery, deep brain stimulation (both awake and asleep), stereotactic RF thermal ablation of hypothalamic hamartomas, and DBS for epilepsy. His training at one of India's premier epilepsy surgery centres has equipped him with skills in the full surgical pathway — from advanced neuroimaging evaluation through to implantation, programming, and long-term follow-up.
Alongside his functional practice, he also undertakes surgery for spasticity, neuro-oncology and skull base surgery, paediatric neurosurgery, and spine surgery.
