The KIMS Neuroscience neurosurgery team is one of the largest and most experienced in South India, covering the full breadth of brain and spine surgery — from glioma and skull base tumour resection to minimally invasive and endoscopic spine surgery, from epilepsy surgery to deep brain stimulation (DBS) and MRI-guided focused ultrasound (MRgFUS). The programme was established over three decades ago and has grown into a subspecialty-differentiated team, with each surgeon bringing distinct international training and procedural expertise.

Every complex case at KIMS is reviewed at the relevant multidisciplinary board — the paediatric neuro-oncology conference, the functional neurosurgery conference, the spinal deformity review — before a surgical recommendation is made. The department performs neurosurgical procedures across cranial tumour surgery, cerebrovascular surgery, epilepsy surgery, functional neurosurgery, paediatric neurosurgery, and complex spine surgery.
