The KIMS Neuroscience neurology department is a comprehensive tertiary referral centre for neurological conditions, with specialist expertise spanning stroke, epilepsy, movement disorders, headache, neuromuscular disorders, autoimmune neurology, neuro-infections, and neurocognitive disorders. Patients are referred from across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and neighbouring states for conditions that cannot be managed at district or secondary hospitals.
The neurology and neurosurgery departments at KIMS function as a single integrated programme for conditions requiring both disciplines: the DBS and MRgFUS programme (neurologist evaluation, neurosurgeon implantation, neurologist programming), the comprehensive epilepsy surgery programme (neurologist-led evaluation including sEEG, neurosurgeon-led resection), and stroke (neurologist-led thrombolysis and thrombectomy). The department operates 24-hour stroke services, EEG monitoring, and neurology intensive care.
